Wonder Woman In Action

Hours of sleep: 1 1/2
Alcohol Units: 3
Cigarettes: more than 10
Phentermines: 0 (Don't feel too anorectic today)

A busy day in the life of Genmaxx...

*Checked outta the office @ 9:15 am (shift ended @ 9). Did a "stopover" @ the mall. Withdraw some moolah from my ATM and played "Tekken Tag" and "King Of Fighters '98" @ the arcade. What can I say? I am a merry diva with a knack for violent games!

*Arrived @ home @ 11:30 am. People @ the house busy making preparations for my sister's advance birthday party. Helped by conducting taste tests of the party food.

*Realized that my usefulness to them is comparable to using seatbelts in rollerblades, I decided to take a nigh-15 minute nap and ate lunch afterwards.

*Did a few exchanges of emotional SMS's with an officemate slash friend who took a resignation from work.

* Had an "almost life-changing" call from previous employer. After all the migraines (and some heartaches) @ current work and a 3-month long "self-assessment", I finally decided I get back to my previous job as a Japanese Interpreter. For the record: my job as a customer service rep is one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had. It is also one of the most mentally stressing but I owe it to my office friends that I have survived more than 6 months doing this work. (You know who you are guys! I may not have hinted it to some of you but I wanna thank you for not only the cig breaks, but for spending some fun time with me on the floor. I am so going to miss y'all!)

*(Barely) Slept @ 2:30 pm. (I almost always have a nice burst of energy for the whole day having dangerously low amounts of sleep than having the ideal 8 hours.)

*When woke up, had a quick bath and a few smokes. Met a friend, Doinks @ 4:30 pm. Went to the mall to: 1) buy a gift for another friend, Annie, who is celebrating her birthday (Had a hard time whether to buy a bag, a Powerpuff Girls plush pillow or a foot relaxation kit. The exhaustion brought about by the atrocious decision-making process made us buy her a strawberry cheese cake.); and 2) buy a new monitor for my PC. Yowza! Went past the restaurant that was the stage for my legendary breakup with now-ex. Now I guess I can somehow laugh at what happened since I did a comic reenactment of the dramatic breakup scene -- complete with a few dialogues and the not-so-epic "walk of shame".

*Went home @ 8 pm. Sister's birthday party in progress. Had a spaghetti and menudo dinner with Doinks. Took a few drinks and worked the "diva" in me doing a couple of songs on the karaoke. (Our house is a big karaoke joint. Not a special occasion spent without doing our family tradition: the über fierce "karaoke battle".) Sister is spending the occasion with her cirque des amis and oh my gawd! One of her friend's hubby is in the house! I got a lustful crush with this hunk of a man since I was a pup and I think I got a little hyper with my singing I overdid Oleta Adams. I'm such a slut!

*On another part of our town, our friend Annie is having a dual birthday celebration with a niece who's celebrating her 18th (dual birthday celebrations saves money, you know). Doinks and I did some costume change and arrived @ Annie's @ around 9:30. (Note: according to my own statistics, I have 28 friends and aquaintances celebrating birthdays on September. It is now apparent to me that December and January should be declared the official months of babymaking.)

*11 pm. Decided that the party is becoming more of Annie's niece's exclusive party (moreover, we feel like a small group of expletive-blurting, reeking grandmas with all the young guests around us), Doinks, Annie and I drove to Eastwood. Had coffee, some smokes and a whole lotta talk about love, sex, men (and their women), exes (and their other women), high school, college and some people bashing until 3 am. Discovered now that a combination of lack of sleep, spaghetti, a tall glass of iced white chocolate mocha and 4-hour long talks can prove to be more intoxicating than taking 20-plus shots of tequilla. Furthermore, this newly-discovered concoction can cause loose bowel movements as a considerable amount of alcohol can make you barf.

*5:30 am. Now using new monitor. Yowza! Got inspired to update blog.

Hoo boy! That's a lot of happenings in one day. I got work later in the evening and I'm now starting to feel tired. Gotta mini-hibernate! So much for the burst of energy I got for not sleeping yesterday.

Week's Report

What a week…
Accumulated hours of sleep: around 30 (bad)
Accumulated alcohol Units: around 2 million (thank God for Saturdays)
Accumulated cigarette sticks: less than a ream

The Anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy made me think. I totally feel sympathetic for the victims, their families and their friends. I don’t have an awe-inspiring sense of justice within me (nor do I feel like Miss World right now) but I personally reckon that this thing called “peace” is now no longer a dream nor it is an aspiration. It is a necessity. Hatred has been here since time immemorial, it’s time for some good news for all of us.

Today: Had a call from a friend I have not spoken with for months. My monitor has been acting up a bit and my friend just offered me some options to have it repaired. Good thing I can use my nephews’ PC monitor. I’m now thinking of buying a new one. Besides, my dear Mag is now 7 years old.

Here are some things that happened to me in the past six days:

Friday (0905): My best friend is bugging me (thru SMS and phone calls) to make certain I don’t miss his birthday party tomorrow. Of course I am so going to come. Because of my sked, I barely get to do an “unholy apparition” to his house. I miss him like shit, and I’d hit his throat if he doesn’t reciprocate. How is it that we work in the same building (in different firms) and we don’t get to see each other?

I am not a precog but as early as now, I can already feel the sweet, burning rush of alcohol in my veins. It’s gonna be a fun day tomorrow.

Saturday (0906): My best friend’s birthday house party. His party is notorious for the seemingly endless drinking and smoking sessions, back (and larynx) breaking karaoke “battles” and sweaty hiphop dancing. All that started from 6 in the evening until 5 a.m. I came to the party @ 8 p.m. and did not start drinking until it was 11. I was not afraid I’d throw up later on, besides I think I handle my alcohol very well. For the record, I never threw up on any of the parties I attended despite my voracious alcohol intake (except for last December, but nobody knew about it anyway – don’t wanna tarnish the reputation. He he! I got so damn drunk anyway it made me dance to 50 Cent. I am in there having sex. I ain’t in there making love. Ha ha ha!

Sunday (0907): The party was such a blast! The hangover got the best of me and I was feeling so sick the time I woke up at 12 noon. I left my best friend’s house @ around 5 p.m. but before that, I asked my friend to play the Donna Summer VH1 Live Concert DVD and demanded to crank up the speakers. Ah, joy!!! I feel love...

Decided to file a leave for this day. Good thing there still was an allocation (for the leave of course). I spent the time just chilling, watching TV and oh yes… I prayed the Rosary with my sister, a family friend and 2 nephews. Contrary to what people think of me, I DO know how to pray. And I’m so thankful the people here taught me how.

Monday (0908): I am so ready to report for work! I’m well-rested and I had an early dose of my (then daily) Donna Summer and Jocelyn Brown sing-and-dance-along to rev me up. I started the shift with a call queue but thank the Most High my momentum for work was near-Wonder Woman like. LOLz

Tuesday (0909): Hoo boy! The workload was quite exhausting (380-something abandoned calls and the queue went as high as 150 or even more!). Was pooped after 10 hours of work and… wait, 5 minutes after my shift ended, I had a call from a problematic caller and guess what? The call lasted for more than 45 minutes! Talk about rendering an unexpected (and expectedly unpaid) overtime!

I was asking a few of my shiftmates if they’d be willing to swap their Saturday off with my Friday rest. Of course, the inevitable happened… and my chances to go to another friend’s birthday party on Saturday slimmed down to a fabulous zero! Good thing I had the urge to take a look at my mailbox and surprise! Workforce announced that this Saturday is going to be my rest day and I had to report for work on Friday (due to some twisted call volume changes)! Woohoo! Miracles do happen (even on Tuesdays).

Yesterday (0910): Rest day. Spent hours watching TV. Quite a boring night until I received a call from ex asking me to go out with him this coming Saturday. Hmm… what was that all about? I told him I have plans to go to my friend’s birthday party but he insisted I see him even after the party. Fine then, I’ll see him @ 2 a.m. Lessee what he’s up to this time.

Was feeling so guilty because I forgot to even phone my friend to greet her a happy birthday! It was her birthday yesterday (but she’s having her party this coming Saturday). I was frantic as to how I’d be able to come to her Saturday party w/o ruining my working schedule I forgot to greet her yesterday, damn! Anyway, I dialed her number on my mobile. It was short and sweet but it was quite funny. Here’s how it went:

Me: Hey sis, I’m so sorry for phoning you just now. What’s up?
Friend: I’m driving.
Me: Belated happy birthday!
Friend: Thanks. I’m driving.
Me: I don’t give a damn if you get a car accident. At least, I phoned to greet you a happy birthday before you die. Expect me this Saturday. Call me when you’re home. Take care. Bye!

I can be such a klutz.

Queer Eye For The Straight Guy

Musique du jour: Downloading Donna Summer's "Love Is The Healer" whilst watching Marilyn Manson's "Tainted Love" on MTV. I feel like a queer in leather and chains right now! LOLz

I have been watching some episodes of "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" for quite a number of weeks now. This show is about five gay guys (one fashion expert, one stylist, one grooming guru, one I believe is an interior designer and one I forgot, sorry.) transforming straight guys with a less-than-delectable fashion and culture sense into stylish, classy men (and oh yes, they also transform their homes into very livable ones).

I LOVE this show but it got me thinking...

Straight men might actually generalize gays as fashion and culture geeks. It led me to thinking "I'm gay and I don't even have half the fashion and culture sense these guys have. What's up with that?" (Right now, I'm convinced that I am a queer guy with the fashion statement of a typical straight guy. LOLz)

I remember one time when a gay friend of mine told me that the queer lifestyle is an "alternative lifestyle". I thought then, "Why? Are we too colorful? Too jovial? Too expressive or even grotesque perhaps?" We eat, work and shit like normal straight people do but why are we too alternative for this society? Moreover, why are we treated differently? As aforementioned, some straight people put a pattern on queer people as, well... you know the rest. It gave me the impression that this so-called "alternative" lifestyle is becoming more "stereotypical". Perhaps a lot of queers are not too big on social normalcy. Perhaps a lot of straight people don't have the balls to expresss themselves the way queers do. Oh my rosawinkels and girdles, I am thinking way too much.

One thing certain springs to mind though: There is so much queerness in most straight people than they'll ever admit to have. And vice versa.

Conclusion: Of course, you gaga! I still enjoy watching Queer Eye For The Straight Guy! I find it entertaining, informative and most of all, fun (my primary drive to watch TV programs). Maybe I enjoy makeover shows, or maybe I need one for myself but I'm a little chicken-shit to try? For whatever it's worth, I enjoy being a queer and I am not professing to be either "alternative" nor do I refuse to be called a "stereotype" just so you know.

"No, I don't have an overwhelming sense of social awareness nor do I like psychoanalyzing people. Just pouring my thoughts. That's all."

Anyway, today I am sporting cornrows. That means one thing (aside from my hair is growing longer): I'm happy. He he heh!!!

New year's Resolutions In August

Hours of sleep: failed to count
Cigarettes: 15
Alcohol Units: 0
Sex for the first time in almost a month: Priceless!

Boredom and idleness can make you think of a lot of things. I sometimes even think of listing down resolutions (like what normal people do on new year) and ends up it becomes more of a wish list than a plan. So, I thought, why not become brutally honest with myself. What is it that I really want to do before the year ends? Just for kicks, ya know! I reckon some of the things I think about is insane but who cares?

August may be an ungodly time to list down resolutions but someting tells me I'm doing the right thing. Ha ha! Anyways, plan to do the following:

1. Have sex with my ex's best friend
This is totally insane! I've always wanted to do this since time immemorial and now that I'm seeing more of him than I do my ex (and considering the fact that I am NOW officially single), I'll get him drunk as hell... and you know what's next. :P

2. Go to our family reunion in drag
More like a fantasy to me. Not all of my relatives know I'm already out of the closet. I just wanna give them a piece of my mind. If they react violently, I'm so gonna tell them to fuck off and stop bitching on my sexuality. LOLz

3. Take nude pictures of one of my friends
I've seen some of my friends totally naked before but this is like the first time I really think of capturing the kodak moment on camera!

4. Get back to taking Phentermine
I have an on and off relationship with phentermine. Oh my dear little pill... I miss the times you make my brain dry and make my appetite a piece of history...

5. Enroll for a class
Cooking class? IT? Technical Nihongo? Education is an important thing to me... registering for next term's masterals is not an option though...

6. Bitch with one of my "closest friends"
I got my sights for one person for this plan. Give her a treat to a dinner and then tell her how much of a global bitch she is for messing with me all the time she's calling herself my "friend".

7. Take this year's Advanced Nihongo Proficiency Exam
Last time I took the exam, I did some preparations... and I failed. Now, let's see how I'll fare this time without breaking a sweat studying for it. (Oops! There goes my registration fee! Ha ha!)

8. Give a birthday gift to somebody I really dislike
I got a list of things I wanna give to that person. Top 3 are: a picture of me flashing a dirty finger, a dead rat or a bestiality porn video. Oh heck, why not give all of them?

Mission: impossible? Not quite. Some people use something to motivate them to do stuff they thought they could not possibly do. Mine is called brute honesty (and desperation to get out of boredom). I got some more things to include in my list but I imagine 2004 is full of promise so I figure why not do them later... Until then, I bid...

HAPPY FUCKING NEW YEAR TO ME!!!

Dysmenorrhea Litanies et al

What if you wake up one day and...

You stretched your limbs and discovered your legs and arms have been interchanged?

The Kevin Costner film you were watching is still playing halfway through?

Your palms are growing stubbles?

You are six months pregnant... and you are a man?

The hair you just had rebonded is in a state of rebellion?

Your mum is serving Frankenfood (genetically engineered produce) on your dining table?

A man on the other end of the phone line told you you won a million bucks only to find out that they've dialed the wrong number?

Your bedsheet is soaked up in your own piss?

Earth's color is baby pink and is populated with Hello Kitty characters?

Keanu Reeves wins Best Actor in the Academy?

Your lover beside you is loudly dreaming of your best friend?

You are wearing a chastity belt that just won't come off?

You saw a gigantic pimple on your nose?

your name is spelled I-M-B-E-C-I-L-E?

Feeling Retro

Hours of sleep: 5 1/2
Cigarettes: 148 (it felt like it)
Alcohol: 525 (it felt like it)

I remember back in the days when my friends make me answer silly stuff on their slumbook. I got an e-mail from one of my friends asking me to answer a number of questions. I thought to myself "why not?". Besides, I'm feeling quite retro today.

Boredom can make you do some weird stuff. Apparently, on my case, it made me answer these...

Age: 20-something
Star Sign: Taurus, so I believe in bullshit
Favorite food: Japanese and Italian sausages LOLz
Hobbies: Sleeping (now becoming more of an ambition than a hobby)
Your first crush: I honestly don't remember. I remember who I first ever felt lust for tho'
One thing that really scares you: Paranoia is my thing, I'm not a whatever-phobic
Ever bungee jumped?: Intestines still up there...
Loved somebody so much it made you cry?: Unfortunately, yeah... Don't wanna do it anymore tho...
Wished someone would just STOP bugging you and wished they'd die? Never. Ask me in 10 mins.
Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? I slept with an animal yeah! LOLz
How long are you in the shower? Depends on how much sex I had that day
Thoughts on Britney Spears: I love Christina Aguilera
Done drugs? Anorectics, yeah
I'll never have sex with...: Ugly people who think they are God's gift to the opposite sex (or the same sex for that matter!
Is the glass half full OR half empty?: Depends if it's pouring in or not :T
Do you believe in aliens?: I have been treated like an alien more than ONCE
Got everything you've wanted? Peace of mind is unattainable at the moment.

One thing you would NEVER do in your life: Post something like this again in my weblog

Ha ha ha!!

Angsty Me

Hours of sleep: 4
Cigarettes: 12
Alcohol Units: 0

Ahh.. the beauty of angst... I don't have much to tell you right now but I just wanna share with you the lyrics to my favorite angst song from Bjork:

Pluto

excuse me

but I just have to
explode

explode this body
off me

wake up tomorrow
brand new

a little tired

but brand new

Amazing Race Finale

For August 22
Hours of sleep: around 7
Cigarettes: 14 (smoking menthols now, ahhh...)
Alcohol Units: 3 (improving!!)

I am a BIG fan of The Amazing Race -- eversince it aired its first season! Never have I seen a reality show that makes me totally excited. Today's season finale almost made me jump outta my seat! The competition was real tight the tension was making me uneasy (I feel like I'm a total nerd right now! LOLz).

What made me all the happier was the fact that the team I was rooting for (since the start of the race) won the one million dollar prize!

Reichen and Chip, a gay couple from LA won the race over 11 teams, conquered 4 continents, 24 cities and 44,000 miles! Reichen Lehmkuhl (the cute one), 28 years old, is a pilot and a flight instructor. He is a former US Air Force officer and a graduate of the US Air Force academy. He's married to his teammate Chip Arndt, a 36-year old active consultant raising financing and setting up projects in film, music, and multi-media around the world. He attended Yale and Harvard Business School. These 2 guys showed the other teams who's boss! Woohoo!

Reichen and Chip

I love this team (not just because I'm also gay) mostly because they showed a refreshing type of queer relationship not normally portrayed on TV. What's more -- they're also hot!

Now I can't wait for the next season! Let's see what CBS has in store for us! I hope to see a lesbian pair kicking some ass on the show. :)

Some gay trivia

Hours of sleep: 5
Cigarettes: 17 (tried shifting to Marlboro lights, decided I'll stay with my dear menthols)
Alcohol units: 0 (clairvoyant mind suggesting this record breaks Friday night

This pink triangle is called a Rosawinkel. The Nazis forced homosexual men to wear this in the concentration camp to isolate them. A gay rights advocate group reclaimed this symbol, campaigning for compensation for homosexual camp survivors. On the other hand, lesbians, prostitutes and other "socially undesirable" women are forced to wear black triangles that time. Not inadvertently, lesbian rights groups adopted the black triangle as their symbol.

I got some gay tidbits I wanna share with y'all. Did you know that....

Elvis Presley abhorred gay men? When he goes to public rest rooms, he had some bodyguards stand outside the door and watch out for homosexuals. He was paranoid with the idea that some homosexuals might grab him or something.

There is a monument for victims of homophobia? This was built 1987 in Amsterdam by designer Karin Daan. The monument has three interlocking pink granite triangles as tribute to homophobia victims.

There is a lesbian comicbook hero? The miniseries was published by DC and featured lesbian character Capt. Maggie Sawyer. The title? Metropolis SCU (Special Crimes Unit).

There is actually one psychiatrist who once claimed he can cure homosexuality? On the 1960's, the very vocal (and apparently anti-gay) psychiatrist Charles Socarides tried to "cure" his own gay son, Richard Socarides of his homosexuality. Richard went on to become former President Clinton's liaison to the gay and lesbian community.

Former US First Lady Nancy Reagan is a homophobe? She claimed she would never vote for a gay political candidate and treated homosexuality as a "sickness" and an "abnormality". She even was quoted 'What in the world do they have to be proud of?' as response to gay pride.

Before the word "homosexual" and "gay" was coined, gays are called as "Urnings"?
German sexologist Karl Heinrich coined this term in the 1980's and referred to gay men as the "third sex" -- a female soul trapped in a man's body.

The Pope once spoke strongly about homosexuality? He proclaimed back in 1986 that 'those who behave in a homosexual fashion...shall not enter the Kingdom of God. He publicly suggested a year after that AIDS might be God's ultimate punishment for homosexuals.

A stupid thing like this happened? Before hundreds of gay pride members parade thru the streets of Bozeman, Montana in 1997, the town's Ku Kulx Klan members gave out flyers warning residents to stay in their houses and not breathe the air so as not to get infected with AIDS.

Gays like myself might be considered the "undesirable minority" to many but there's so much love going on in us there's no room for hateration and bigotry in our hearts. Peace out!
